What Happens To Your Body When You Don't Shower

You may or may not have known that the world's dirtiest man nicknamed Amou Haji from Iran, is dead at age 94. The last time he had his bath was at age 34 - meaning that he didn't shower for 60 years! 😱

He stayed away from bathing because he believed that soap and water will make him sick. He isolated himself for most of his life in an open brick hut which villagers made after he started sleeping in a hole in the ground.

In 2014, the Tehran Times reported that Haji also avoided fresh foods, and instead he ate rotted porcupine, and smoked a pipe filled with animal excrement.

I kind of tried to understand his belief about not bathing; but smoking animal excrement? I feel like he had some emotional or mental health thing going on with him.

He d.ied on Sunday after villagers took him to a bathroom to give him a bath. I can't really say if that's what ki.lled him. May his soul R.est In Peace!

Now this true life story brings us to this question.. "what happens to your body when you don't shower?" Will you di.e? The answer is no! I mean there are so many mad and homeless people on the streets who have no means to take a shower, and they're still very much alive.

This is what happens to your body instead when you don't shower :

1. You will smell

Quite cliche, but true! You will develop body odor which can also happen from poor hygiene; but it is not just sweat that makes you stink. There will be bacteria increase which produce gases as they feed on proteins and fatty acids which means you'll walk around with different types of odors combined on your body!

If you ever in a place where you can't shower, then make sure you find a way to clean your armpits, groin, and face. These parts of your body are specifically disposed to bacteria!

2. You could have acne

There's a reason why you're told to always wash your face, or not to go to bed with makeup on! While there are different causes of acne, you may realize that missing a shower can make acne breakout worse!. Have you ever fallen asleep with makeup on, and a dirty face, and realized you got one or two pimples from that?

If you're really tired, then use a face cleanser before going to sleep!

3. There will be a build up of dead skin cells

You shed millions of dead skin cells every hour, and if you don't shower to wash them off, they could build up on the surface of your skin, and probably cause irritation which can also leave your skin itchy, and dry.

4. Skin infections

Typically, your skin has healthy bacteria on it called normal flora; but if your skin is unable to fight the bad bacteria, and fungi, then infections like ringworm, eczema, etc, can occur!

This is also why I take a shower once I'm back from the gym, and wash my gym clothes too. Sharing a yoga mat at the gym with people can also cause this because you could use a mat that someone who already has skin infections used, and if you don't shower, the fungi will grow and spread on your body too!

5. You can get sick

Like I already wrote in no.4 about bad bacteria, it doesn't just affect your skin; it can also cause you to be sick if the germs that aren't washed off make their way into your body through your eyes, mouth, or nose!

So guys these are basically what will happen to you if you don't shower, or maintain a proper hygiene! I hope you enjoyed reading? Please Share This Post

9 Psychological Facts About Love

Let me start by saying that I'm not a love nor a relationship expert; but I've found these to be true. Growing up, I never questioned what love is because I had a lot of it from my family; and I'll simply tell anyone that love is genuine care, and selflessness.  I once read a Christian book that said that Agape Love  is the purest form of love, but I'm not defining what love is, or is not, today! Below, I'll be sharing some psychological facts about love especially for romantic relationships . Photo Credit : Unsplash

I Do Not Conform

This is just one of those topics I didn’t think deeply about; just some random thoughts on a random rainy cold night, put into writing! You ever scrolled through social media, and saw one of those posts that say “A woman is 'supposed to'….”? Oh my! How much I detest stuff like that.

How Living A Private Life Can Make You Stronger And Happier

Sighs...  We live in a generation where people feel like, or think that if you aren't posting nor sharing almost every moment of your life on social media, then nothing good is happening to you; and you're sad. I’ll be sharing this based on my personal experience; but let me explain what it means to live a private life. It means not sharing every personal detail about your life publicly. However, privacy is not the same as secrecy because people often confuse the two. Also, living a private life doesn't mean that you shouldn’t ask for help when you're in dire need of it. As an introvert, I keep most personal stuff to myself; but I used to trust easily until I learned the hard way. I learned that not everyone means well for you; and the scary part of it is that you may never know.  Photo Credit: Deposit photos
